danceform is built on a simple principle: your dance library is yours. The danceform iOS app is local-first — your moves, routines, and practice sessions live on your iPhone and are never uploaded to any server. There is no account, no cloud backup, and no profile tied to your identity.
This website (danceform.app) is separate from the iOS app. It exists to showcase the app, publish blog posts and news, and provide support. The two are covered separately below.
The danceform app collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no user profiles. We do not collect your name, email address, device identifiers, IP address, or any identifying information.
The app can optionally fetch a public news and tips feed from this website to display in the home screen slider. This is a one-way read of public content — no personal data is sent with the request, and nothing about your library is transmitted. You can turn the feed off in the app's settings; when disabled, the slider shows only your local content and no network request is made.
The only analytics we use in the app are anonymised, aggregate crash reports provided by Apple through the App Store (opt-in under your iOS settings). These reports help us identify and fix bugs; they contain no content from your library.
When you visit this website, our hosting provider (Base44) processes your request to deliver the page. We do not collect or store identifying information such as your name, email, or device details from general browsing.
This website (separate from the app) uses Base44's built-in, aggregate analytics — such as pages visited, country-level region, and device type — to understand general traffic. This is not linked to a named account. We may add privacy-respecting website analytics (for example, Google Analytics) in future; if we do, it will apply only to this website, not the app, and we will update this policy. The danceform app will remain free of tracking and analytics.
Our server logs record the name of the page requested and a success or error status to keep the site running smoothly; they do not contain personal information.
The website serves public content (blog posts, news feed, support forms). If you submit the Support form, we capture and store the information you provide — your name, email address, subject, and message — so we can review and respond to your enquiry. This information is kept in our support system and is visible to our team; it is not shared with third parties. You can request deletion of your support enquiry at any time by contacting us.
danceform requests read-only access to Apple Health for the Dance Fitness feature. We read heart rate and workout intensity data to provide insights within the app. We never write to Apple Health. Health data is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted or stored outside your device. You can revoke access at any time via iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
The microphone is only used in the Practice Studio when you activate Voice Control. It is never listening in the background. You can revoke microphone access at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
Camera access is required to record moves and practice takes in the Studio. The camera is active only when you are actively recording a clip or take inside the app. We do not store video in the cloud.
danceform Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through In-App Purchases. We never see your payment card details. Apple may share limited transaction metadata with us through App Store Connect — such as transaction IDs, subscription status, and renewal dates — so we can verify purchases and manage subscriptions. This metadata does not include your name or card number. Subscription management and cancellation is handled via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
The danceform app does not use third-party advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking tools, and does not collect personal data. Your library, videos, and health readings stay on your device. If you opt in via iOS, Apple may share aggregate, anonymised crash reports with us to help fix bugs.

danceform does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. As the iOS app collects no personal data from any user, this is inherent to our design.
This Privacy Policy is subject to change as new features are added to the danceform iOS app and this website. We will update this page whenever we introduce features that affect how data is handled.
For example, we may add Google Analytics to this website in the future, which would change the website portion of this policy considerably — including the use of cookies and the collection of visit data by a third party.
